The Deputy Minister of Science, Research & Technology for Technology and Innovation who is also the chairman of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Regional Center for Technology Incubator & Science Park Development (IRIS) located in Isfahan, appointed the new director for the center.
Based on the decree issued by Dr. Mohammad Nabi Shahiki Tash, the Deputy Minister of MSRT for Technology and Innovation, Mozhgan Yazdianpour will assume the position as IRIS Director.
The appointment letter for Yazdianpour states: " Given your significant commitment and invaluable experience in conducting the international affairs of science & technology parks, coupled with your specialized expertise in the activities of the Regional Center for the Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS), under the auspices of UNESCO, and recognizing your dedicated efforts in the center affairs since of its establishment, in accordance with Article 10, Paragraph 2 of the agreement between the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (I.R. of Iran) and UNESCO, and based on the recommendation of the President of Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT), the host organization of the Center, I hereby appoint you as the Director of the Regional Center for the Technology Business Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS), under the auspices of UNESCO."
The necessity for expanding relations with member and target countries in the field of STP development has been emphasized in her letter of appointment.
It is worth mentioning that prior to this, Dr. Mohammad Javad Omidi held this position since May 2014.
IRIS operates as a Category 2 Centre under the auspices of UNESCO. It focuses on fostering technology transfer, conducting trainings, organizing capacity building, providing consultancy and facilitating experience exchange in developing countries to help development and strengthening science and technology parks and incubators.
